Formerly known as Trafficmaster in the UK, Teletrac Navman UK Ltd. is a global Telematics Leader.  Our award-winning navigation feature Smartnav is supported 24/7 by our team of Personal Assistants.  Stolen Vehicle Tracking is offered by Trackstar and Eurowatch.  The Traffic Information business has operated under the Trafficmaster brand for over 25 years.  All focused on the same goal - integrated, intelligent driving services that reduce costs, improve efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.  Our services use a common Telematics technology platform, developed in-house to offer tailored solutions to our customers. 

First formed in 1988 Trafficmaster achieved many milestones through the years, from being listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994, to being acquired by Danaher in August 2013, some highlights follow:

In 1996 BMW was the first car manufacturer to realise the benefits to its customers of having traffic information available on their in-car information screens and introduced BMW Monitor.  First live traffic information, available via GSM cellular telephone - In 1997 Trafficmaster signed a contract in the UK with Cellnet, now O2, to provide the first live traffic information service in the world via GSM telephone.  In 1998 Citroen became the first manufacturer to fit our units as standard.  In 2001 Trafficmaster aquired Teletrac Inc., a US based telematics company.  Smartnav was launched in 2002 and went on to become and award-winning navigation system. 2004 sees Trafficmaster launch RDS-TMC (Radio Data System-Traffic Message Channel) to provide drivers with accurate real time traffic flow data via a standard-fit or optional on-board navigation system.  In 2006 Trafficmaster launched Pay-As-You-Drive Insurance with Norwich Union. In 2008 Trafficmaster acquired EUROWATCH then providing SVT services in 45 countries.  FMS in the USA was acquired in 2009, to provide fleet satellite cover in unmapped regions of the world.  2010 saw the signing of Stolen Vehicle Tracking contracts with Jaguar Land Rover, with the BMW contract renewed until 2017.
